Windows reinstall drive info needed

I'm about to install legit win 10 onto a system that i had previously used to watch movies because its previous win 7 oem had run out. My question is this. My main operating drive has no movies on it as it is a relatively small ssd. My larger 2tb movie drive is literally a storage device and nothing else. If i only wipe the ssd and reinstall the win 10 drivers there will i then be able to relink my 2tb drive with all the movies on it without any form of corruption occuring? Would it work at all or do i need to back it all up first?

it will work just fine, for extra peace of mind, just disconnect the hard drive to prevent any user errors during installation
