So right now I'm sitting on a i5-4670k, a GTX 770 2GB, and 16GB of RAM at 1600MHz. I considering buying a GTX 1070 or GTX 1060 and that's all. But with Skylake and DDR4 out, and newer games becoming more and more demanding, I've also been considering a full system upgrade or just building a whole new rig and selling/gifting my old one.

So I'm just wondering what people who aren't myself think and would do. suggestions

Thing to know:
>I don't have any plans to use VR
>Money IS an object, I'm not loaded
>I like turtles
>I'd like to play CS @ 144fps and most other games I'll be fine with at 60fps or more and maybe 1440p if I get a monitor that supports it.

I'd say get a 1070 now, and upgrade to an i5-8XXX whenever they come out. 4-5 years is usually the point of upgrading for PCs.

Your CPU looks to be good for another 5 years (past trends considered), so I'd get a 1060 6GB (save the leftover for something else) or go all in for the 1070.

Just get a GTX 1060 and upgrade it to the next $250 GPU in 3 years. It's resulted in the best value for money assuming you don't want premium as fuck stuff like 4K

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Computer having a hard time powering on? Troubleshoot it with this guide. (Currently looking for suggestions to update it into the context of <current year> and make it its own thread)

Oops amd guy here rx 480 has better dx 12 and higher resolution game performance for the same price.  Look into it the 1060 isn't really future proof though so watch it.

1060 should do 144hz 1440p csgo, and will do 8/10 games 60fps at 1080p

dunno about rx480 never had an amd gpu but I hear they run at pretty hot temperatures!

i5 4670k and16gb ram are good enough for another 3 years

after an year or so get yourself a i5 6600k skylake build! that should run every game for awhile.
