Hey guys, i have an hp probook 4440s with an intel celeron b840 duel core cpu clocked at 1.9 ghz. I really love this laptop but in certain tasks, it just cant keep up. Im super tech savvy when it comes to desktop components, but i lack in the mobile department and i have no idea what im looking at. I really wanna upgrade my cpu to either a core i3, i5, or even i7 if priceing is good. Can anyone give me a list of cpu's that are compatible with my laptop and the pros and  ons of swapping them out. I really apreciate it

Here's a list: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-HP/ProBook_4440s.html

I don't think that is worth it, but if you really want to you can I guess.

certain business/enterprise class laptop might allow you to upgrade the cpu.

but its probably not worth the time or effort or money.

It's probably cheaper to find another probook/elitebook/thinkpad on the used market that has a better processor

According to the list that itsmilan posted "which is a list ive seen" there are i series that will fit this laptop and i have found these for good prices on ebay new and used. I just wanted to confirm that they will work. The cpu is inder removable. Quite easily actualy. I just didnt k ow if there was something im missing. For instance, i can buy an i3 for about $15. $40 for an i5.

I'm pretty sure many, if not all laptops don't have removable CPUs.

They are soldered to the motherboard.

You're thinking of Ultrabooks. Normal sized laptops are mostly PGA sockets.
