So, I am about to buy this used pc. I am pretty sure it's a steal (atleast in Norway)

I only know that it's an i5 and it has a fully modular psu.

can anyone help identify the parts? As the pictures are really blurry and I only have my phone (main rig is broken, so that's why I'm buying this thing.

case is a coolermaster CM690, asus motherboard is an lga 1156, so its a first generation i5. if its an i5 7xx its a quad core without hyperthreading, if its an i5 6xx than its a dual core with hyperthreading. psu is some chieftec unit judging from the fan grille. not sure what the hell that graphics card is considering it looks like the shroud and fan is removed. ram is likely to be somewhere between 4-16gb depending on ram capacity, while the speed is likely ddr3 1333 or 1066.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

ask him for the specific model of the i5, capacity of the ram(each stick and total), any storage and the model of the chieftec psu(ask @STRMfrmXMN about quality once you find the model) and the model of graphics card.

Not all graphics cards have a shroud/fan,.  Especially those of an older generation.

I have a rig upstairs that has a small graphics card that is passively cooled it was the office rig then when I gave it to my son one of his games was so slow it was unplayable so I put this card in that though whilst not at all powerfull did enough to lift his game into playable territory (it is now on its third life as a [very overpowered] radio streamer to fall to sleep too).

For $70 as long as it works grab it then worry about what specific model each part is.

yes, i do know that not all GPUs have a shroud or a fan, i've seen the palit gtx 750ti calmX before. but the GPU looks like it has 2 sli/crossfire connectors, and i don't really remember any graphics cards supporting 3-way SLI/crossfire with a passive cooler.

Looks like you've already got this one wrapped up.  But if it boots, buy it. $70 is a steal.  Get it home and cleaned up.  Post better pictures/numbers on the components/  Run speccy as advised and we'll help you find what you need for cheap upgrades if we can.

So I bought it, turns on and everything

Got a g19 keyboard for free too so that's awesome.

the cpu is a 650

the gpu is a amd 4800 series

and 8gb of ram

i can't get anymore info about the gpu as I have no wireless adaptor atm

Anyways I think it will run games like rocket league and work as a plex server But I have a hell of a cleaning job to do

I'm going to take a stab at it and guess that's an ATI (yes ATI not AMD) Radeon HD4870.  Hard to be sure though because that's an aftermarket cooler by Zalman.

The cooler is a gigabyte according to speccy.

the temps are really high on idle though, and the fan spins like crazy.

so I think new thermal paste will help (plus basic cleaning of dust and stuff)

Eh ?  The Gigabyte in brackets will be the manufacturer of your card.

What?

It makes sense to be their own cooler right?

anyways I have to change the thermal paste on the gpu as it reaches 110degrees Celsius on load :D

not optimal

Yes it does but I have a (semi educated ) guess that that is an aftermarket one.

Below is a pic' of the card as supplied ..

Have a look, seems diffferent to the one on your rig.

Tad confusing as that cooler is made by Zalman

Also yours seems to have some sort of box struture at the rear of the card whilst the "stock image" shows discrete componets.

Maybe clearing half the crap from between those fins will bring the temps down xD

It would seem I was almost right.  It is a Gigabyte ATI HD4890 1GB Ultra Durable.  The cooler is a Zalman (the VF1050 to be specific), but it is OEM.

Mmm seems I am at fault here, saw 4800 series and thought "ah 4800" I minimized the word " series" in my mind.

That pic I provided is of a 4800.

Ah well still a complete bargain at $70
