RGB Lights

At my school we built a t-shirt cannon robot and were looking to deck it out with some awesome RGB LEDs, but we want a kit that can also be controlled via a computer. So does anyone have any recommendations?

So that will work without being connected directly to a computer, because I was looking at the hue+ but I didn't know if it would work

If you wanted a simple solution you could use an NZXT HUE+ one it and wire it via USB back to a PC, but if you wanted to do some custom LED lighting that flashes to music or different modes you design you can get something like the Neopixel LED's and do everything via an ardunio.

That sounds cool cause we have an arduino lying around somewhere

So with the hue we would still have to plug it in to a computer and the lights into the hue, cause it'd be kinda hard to do with that thing driving around.

Not really since it must use that software to control the lighting, if you wanted to just have a simple controller system with a remote you can get stuff like this that can change colors automatically to music:

Use wireless DMX. DMX - LED strip controllers are cheap, and so are wireless DMX transmitters/receivers. You will need a DMX controller or can make one with a Pi, Arduino or can use free software and a USB DMX dongle.
