If you wanted a simple solution you could use an NZXT HUE+ one it and wire it via USB back to a PC, but if you wanted to do some custom LED lighting that flashes to music or different modes you design you can get something like the Neopixel LED's and do everything via an ardunio.

Not really since it must use that software to control the lighting, if you wanted to just have a simple controller system with a remote you can get stuff like this that can change colors automatically to music:
