Just Got a Notification to a Thread I've Never Interacted With

Yup that explains it.  Look:

It was posted there, which triggered the notification, but by the time you saw it, it had been moved and thus the message changes with it

Do you follow any subforum?  If it was originally posted somewhere you do follow but then moved, it would show up like that, I believe.  This is a possibility since according to the records that topic was moved.
