ASUS ROG Strix X99 Motherboard

I would buy an 'normal' motherboard. Why should you pay for functions you don't need, they do not improve your performance. Just invest in a normal but good motherboard and use the spare money for something like RAM.

As much as I prefer Asus motherboards, I personally cannot recommend that motherboard.

Mine was unstable with regular BSOD's, and it died after a few weeks with the VRM exploding in a great puff of smoke, I sent it back to RMA it a few weeks ago, and have not yet received the replacement.

I purchased an Asrock X99 Taichi as I got sick of waiting for the RMA process, which is relatively basic, but it is very stable and was good value.

Do you need the features that come with the motherboard?

Are there cheaper motherboards that have the features you need?
