Download speed issues...

Go to solution Solved by ModerateSkill,

Are you sure you're not getting confused with MB/s and Mb/s? (Sorry for being condescending if you know). Steam displays download speed in MB/s and it's likely that your xbox displays it in Mb/s. The difference is that a Mb is an 1/8th of the size of a MB. This means that the 2MB/s you see in steam, is the same as 16Mb/s that you're likely seeing on your xbox.

So i am installing a game one my xbox one when i realized it gets better download speeds than my computer. My computer normally gets around 2Mb/s on steam, however my xbox one is averaging 15Mb/s. They are both connected to the same router. So i was just wondering why my computer isnt getting the 15Mb/s speed my xbox is getting.

Yeah, it's a common mistake. Your internet service provider will quote your download speed in Mb/s. Lot's of people think that because they have a download speed of 10Mb/s, a 100MB file will download in 10 seconds. (Takes 80 seconds as 100MB is 800Mb). Hope I was helpful.
