eGPU Setup Help

So I've got an HP Spectre x360. Great laptop for doing school work, but I would like to know if using an external gpu on it is possible without opening it up. If I do, can someone tell me a laptop that has a decent cpu and that I won't have to open up to use an e-gpu? (And yes I know about the razer core, but I'm not will to shell out $500 just yet)

500$ is the cheapest eGPU hub available. And it doesn't work with 99% of laptops. Currently - eGPU sucks big time. Just get a laptop with a 970M

There are graphics adapters that work over USB, but generally those are pretty crap and should be only used in a last resort for plugging into projectors. They're meant for presentations and light work rather than gaming.

GPUs don't boot with those. Nvidia drivers require a minimum of PCIe 3.0 x4 to work properly IIRC

what's your end goal here? why not just get a cheap gaming PC?
