It really depends on your budget. Anything from a 7870 to a 780 would be a nice upgrade.

Welcome! If your budget is right around $250, I think the MSI GTX 760 Gaming is a great card. The Asus DirectCU version is great too. As everyone else said though, it really depends on how much you have to spend :P

Depends on what all you'll be doing and budget. Just gaming, get a R9 280X or 270X, if you are doing video rendering/editing with adobe, get a 760 or a 770!

Im running into issues as well when i see sli bench marks vs single higher end cards. Is it worth getting a better single card for more money , or send less and run my two 560ti in sli? Also im open to upgrading other things than just my video card as well!

You can sell your i7, get a i5 4670k which will give your 100 more dollars :P and you can buy say a gpu for 450 dollars or 300 and save some money for ssd, i would go for r9 280x, it is a rebranded 7970 ghz edition 100 dollars cheaper, so it is 300 dollars in price with is very nice price for something that can beat gtx 770 that is 400, and new technologies are coming to these cards so its a win win. You can also crossfire these two cards:

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-OC-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-R7950-3GD5/dp/B00CRNRSLW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1381947393&sr=8-5&keywords=radeon+7950

Those are 7950 and if you sell your cpu to get a i5 4670k which will get you 100 dollars (you will get same or even better performance than your i7) you can crossfire those for ultimate performance!

Also welcome to the forums!

I don't mind spending a few extra bucks if it going to produce a better product so i don't think i need to sell anything to get more money, nor do i mind changing from nvidia to radeion or what ever. As for the ssd im going to wait till Christmas so i can get it cheaper! But how does the rest of my system look? Is there any area that's lacking? my original post didn't work so sadly this is a really dumbed down version of that. Thanks for the warm welcomes and the vibes on the lttf are rockin. Will i need a new power supply if i get a better card or do you think 750watt Will do the trick? Thanks for the idea martinil, ill check them cards out tonight that everyone suggested and hopefully order or buy one tomorrow! If anyone could help me with the different versions of cards as well that would be great.

Im having terrible luck on my phone with posting and writing things so hopefully this is somewhat readable.

760s are expensive as hell right now I would look at getting a 7970 instead.

If you can get an R9 280X go for that if you can afford it. I wouldn't sell your i7, you probably won't get 100 dollars back because it has already been used :P

I would get a 7970 or r9 280x. 7970s can drop to 269 after MIR no problem, but if they are the same price just get a 280x since it will perform slightly better (the difference is like a frame or two). If I were you and wanted to buy a graphics card soon wait until friday for the weekly deals and wait to see if a 7970 goes on sale again. If it doesn't and you want to buy a new gpu just get a 280x you won't be sorry. And don't sell your cpu unless you can get a good deal, there is no point to sell it since it still performs extremely well. Oh yeah don't forget that currently the 290x doesn't come with a game bundle, if you don't want any of the games you could always just sell it on ebay and that would "drop" the cost of 7970 if you were to get one.

My rig: i7 930 oc to 3.4 ghz, GA-X58A-UD3R, 6GB of ocz ram, antec nine hundred two, seasonic g 650, gigabyte 7970 OC, 120 GB Samsung 840, 1TB Seagate barracuda. Cm storm trigger mx browns and a steelseries sensei raw.

Also the sapphire HD 7970 is 90 bucks off right now on newegg! Also there are so many different kinds of R9 280X's out there, like the MSI , sapphire and im sure others. Same with the 7970 theres, asus, powercolor , FXF. do i go with the one that has the highest HMZ? this is where my knowledge of thats different between them goes to shit... I know some might have better coolers or somthing, but someone should yet again point me in the right direction. <3

Love all the support guys. Youre making me pumped to spend 300 or 400 bucks! :D

Mhz (clock speeds) don't really matter any 7970 should be able to go past 1000Mhz unless the you get is god like in overclocking there will be no real difference. Manufacturers that are good are MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Sapphire and HIS on AMD sides of the terf. If you find a good deal on any 7970 or 280x by those companies you won't be disappointed. And that newegg deal you see is nothing special a 7970 should not be over $300 anymore. If you want to get a 7970 these are the 2 that are two good options, http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr797oc3gd and http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-hd7970dc23gd5

I would get the cheapest one since they are both the same: 7970 Ghz/R9 280X. The coolers that I recommend for these cards are MSI Twin Frozr 3/4, Sapphire Dual-X/Vapor-X, and HIS IceQ X2.

You guys are gods.  also i only have PCIe 2.0 x1 so both cards will still preform the same even though i dont have 3.0? Some people were saying that the 280x was better because it was newer? everyone seems to be 50/50 on what to get, with the consensus being, get the cheaper one. :P ill look friday to see if there's some sales. any site better than anyother? I've used NCIX before, i also know tigerdirect and newegg. also the canadian computers that was suggested to me.

ITS SO HARD TO MAKE A DECISION ON HOW TO SPEND 300 DOLLARS! :P ill do some hunting friday and the cheapest, most badass looking one i will buy.

Thanks for all the help you sexy bitches. <3
