So I have Far Cry 3 on PC.  I've played it on my PC at home, I can max it out.  It's beautiful, it's fun.  I'm at college now, so I don't have my desktop, but my laptop.  All I keep getting is a black screen with the game, and I hear the music and sounds of the game.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled a game.  I've disabled all of the Uplay overlays.  I've even gone into the actual folders in steam/steamapps/common/Far Cry 3/support/punkbuster to install Punk Buster manually.  I've tried verifying game cache.

I even went into GeForce Experience and disabled their overlays.

Nope, this game still refuses to run on my laptop.

Help!!  Please!

First of all.. Is your laptop capable of running it?

Yes.  If Far Cry 3 can run on a 750ti, it can run on a 960m.

First off Brilliant game and i hope my method helps you to get it to work,

Right click on the game in SteamApp > Properties > GENERAL > SET LAUNCH OPTIONS

To change the resolution externally.
start off small
type in      -w 800 -h 600

this will force the game to start in a smaller screen so when it begins you can go into the game and change the resolution to your screen.

This happened on many of my games too. the screen would go blank i could hear everything but a message would appear on my monitor reading that its higher than the resolution of my screen and that i had to set it to 1360 x 768 (native resolution).
Try the above and let me know !

That didn't work.  I'm trying to download the game through UPlay instead of Steam this time.
