Here's the list of parts of my budget build. Do you think I should get the Corsair VS550 VS Series Power Supply or go with the Super Flower Leadex Silver 550W Fully Modular PSU. Their price difference is about 30USD which in my currency is pretty significant.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 @3.2GHz

RAM: 1x 8GB DDR4 @2133 MHz

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-DS2 DDR4 Motherboard

GPU: ZOTAC Nvidia GTX 1060 Mini 6GB GDDR5
PSU: [PENDING]

HDD: Seagate 2.5" 5400 RPM 1TB ST1000LM035
Case: Segotep LUX ATX Gaming Computer Case (Black)
Fans: 3x 120mm Blue LED Fans (Included in the case)
DVD/CD Drive: My USB powered DVD/CD Drive if I need to access DVDs or CDs
Monitor: Acer 18.5" S191HQL Monitor

I wouldn't recommend the Corsair VS for anybody with a discrete GPU. Trust me, 30 dollars can go a long way in a PSU and the Super Flower is infinitely better.

Should I get a Super Flower Fully Modular 550W PSU, a Segotep 80 Plus Gold GP600G 500W Supply Unit or a Corsair VS550 VS Series Power Supply? I am trying to save costs as much as possible. The links of both are provided below. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)

Sketchy power supplies have been known to explode or pop in a pit of fire like some bloodthirsty pyro (sorry, got kinda carried away there).

Go with a reliable manufacturer (Corsair is my personal favorite, with their CX series being a great basic power supply), Antec (their EarthWatts is a great option), Cooler Master, Seasonic (cheaper, uglier, but reliable and safe), Silverstone or FSP are all good options. Seasonic and FSP are both original board manufacturers, and other companies (including Corsair, Cooler Master, Antec and Silverstone) will often buy boards from these tier 2 companies to manufacture.

Because it is Japanese doesn't mean you should get it

There is no mention of it on PSU whitelist too

Yes.

Tier 6 hardly means reliable. It means it's bad.

The Super Flower is by far the best choice.

BTW, Segotep is a Chinese brand. Not Japanese.

Is there a reason why you don't recommend Corsair's VS series to anyone?

It's a garbage PSU. It performs mediocre and is made mediocre.

You don't need to use a PSU to know if it's good or bad. It's actually generally impossible for most home users to test electrical performance and many don't want to void their warranty to look at the quality of the internals.
