Return XPS 13 and get a Razer Blade Stealth?

Hey guys I would like your opinion on a decision I just cant make. About 10 days ago I got a Dell XPS 13 (9350) with an I7-6560U 16GB ram and 512GB ssd for $1600. I originally wanted the razer blade stealth, but I never got it because it only has 8Gb of ram. Of course right after I get the xps 13 in the mail a brand new stealth comes out and has 16GB of ram plus a kaby lake I7. I have 10 days left to return the laptop if I want to get the new blade stealth. Will the I7-7500U be worth the upgrade from the I7-6560U? Will it be worth it to return the xps 13 and get the new balde stealth?

Why on earth would you return a high-end premium device for a pile of crap? Blade runs loud, hot and is built very poorly - not materials - the way they are put together.

Keyboard is shit, audio is poor, battery is literally half of what you can get on XPS machines

You should do whatever make you happy. Does the XPS machine do what you want it to do? If it does then I see no reason to trade to the Razer machine. If for some reason you are not happy or know you will not be happy until you have the Razer laptop then go ahead and trade.

idk, blade stealth looks really cool despite the issues people complain about. also, i know you have 10 to return it, but maybe wait for kaby lake benchmarks to be released.

they are released...either way it doesn't really matter in real world. They've still both ULV chips. Minor improvements don't really matter when you're working on light workloads, and minor improvements don't help with heavy workloads. Only cool thing is that HD620 is about equal to HD540. That's pretty cool.

Rather trade your xps13 for money and wait for a new version. Or trade it for sticks of ram.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO... The XPS is 10x better than the Blade. Blade overheats, gets half the battery life of the XPS, you are dropping from Iris graphics to HD graphics, keyboard on the blade is worse, Razers quality control and customer service is shit. The Dell is a much better laptop by a long way.

I imagine the 620 is going to be slightly behind the Iris considering that the Iris has a massive advantage over the 520. The HD 620 is probably going to be a 10-20% increase over the 520 placing it slightly behind the Iris. If you want to be optimistic they might be comparable.

Within 10%. I didn't notice you had the Iris Pro version. So the decision becomes ALOT more trickier. What do you want? What are your use cases? Honestly I have no answer for you. It's quite interesting. A slight bump in CPU vs slight decrease in GPU. LOL.

The GPU bump would be more advantageous (assuming the 540 is faster), but there is also likely a restocking fee....so, that makes it not worthwhile.

They are looking almost the same spec wise. It will all come down to the price. The one i have now dell sells for $1999 but i price matched with bestbuy for $1600. If they have the newer onc at 1999 than i'm definitely not getting that one. @Pendragon

They REALLY need to release it with an OLED screen.  I would lose my shiat.

Do you want burn-in? Because that's how you get burn-in.

Don't do it if you have to pay more than $10-20 to upgrade to the Kaby Lake variant. (including taxes, restocking fees, etc...)

Task bar and title bar would burn in rather quickly.

Meh, I'd have to see it first hand or at least see some consistent proof.

I haven't heard much of the AW13 guys experiencing burn.

These scores are tempting https://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/327755

For half the time of the XPS 13. The battery life on the stealth is awful. Its only a 16.5% single core improvement and 10% improvement in multicore (http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/7732220). And you are probably giving up on graphics performance. It is the better financial decision to keep the XPS 13 you already have (you are not getting your money back on it).

15% restocking fee..... Yeah no. I think i'm fine with these scores also https://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/319870

Best option is to just keep the laptop. @Squirrel724

Absolutely not. You will always feel professional and premium with the XPS 13. The stealth makes you feel gross, cheap, and bezel-ly. And hot.

Yup, that's me. You can get a lot more out of that iris than the 620 even. Read the comments thread for some interesting info.
