GTX 1070 Driver Installation Not Working

Hello,

 

I'm trying to install a GTX 1070 driver and it says it succeeds and that I must restart the computer, but when I restart, it's like the driver doesn't stick.

 

GeForce experience says I need to install the driver AGAIN, like I never installed it in the first place. Again, I get no error.

 

I replaced it from an R9 290, and I may have made a possible error of installing the GTX 1070 driver, THEN uninstalling the AMD driver.

 

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Try installing the driver manually not through geforce as I personally have been having issues when i work on systems with it recently and simply uninstalled it and and just updating the drivers myself via thier website. Just check your drivers as well in device manager to check for conflicts.

Use DDU (display driver uninstaller).

Also if you have Windows 10 make sure your version is at least at 1151.

You can check by pressing Win key+R then into window which appears type winver and hit enter.

It says my windows version is 1511, and yes that is typed correctly.

Ok. Then try using DDU if you didn't.

Thanks Werecat! DDU worked perfectly in Safe Mode and I was able to get the driver downloaded at last.
