First PC build. Tell me your opinion :D

I've done some research and this seems like a PC that can handle most games at 1080p/max settings on 60fps and the latest most demanding games at 30? (need opinions on that).

This PC will slowly be upgraded whenever I raise enough money for like an SSD/Cooler and hopefully next year an i7-6700k and an appropriate GPU.

I also need your thoughts on over-clocking this CPU on this mobo. I've seen that with like a certain BIOS version it is possible to over-clocking non K CPUs?

P.S. The extra features on the M5 aren't really worth it right? Got a tight budget cause I need a monitor aswell. (I know the Razer case is a bit expensive but it fits my setup and I believe that the Matt Black is worth it.)

Don't do the same mistake I did, which is buying a hard drive to your system before an SSD. You see, it's terrible to move windows to your SSD from your hard drive. You should get an SSD first so you can set it as a boot drive and then add a hard drive when you have the cash. Otherwise, the system seems nice, if you're on a tight budget ;)

You don't need that motherboard. The i3 6100 is a non-k chip, so it can't be overclocked. The Z170 Chipset would go to waste.

That's why I break mine twice.

Replace your processor and motherboard to i5 and H110. Your motherboard doesn't need to be Z170, just H110 is enough.

Add a SSD such as Samsung 120G 850 EVO / 750 EVO (don't remove the HDD, you still need it).

Change the RAM to single 8GB stick.

The i5 6500 is a better choice. Everything else is perfect. However, if you don't need fast boot times or fast level loading times in video games, or if you are low on a budget, then you can consider giving up the SSD if you don't need the speed. But if you really want an SSD but are low on budget, you can get a 60 GB SSD instead.

Trust me, not getting an SSD is a big mistake. It's relatively cheap yet improves system functionality by a LOT. Not to mention 700$ isn't exactly low.

60GB is not enough for the OS and basic programs

Oh wow. I forgot he needs it futureproof, saying that he'll later get an i7. For that case SSD is a MUST. You're right. Thanks for the correction.

Honestly - with an RX 480, an i7 is a waste of money but that is just my opinion.

As I said this will be slowly upgraded. Hence the future proof motherboard for the next chip I'll get. (might be an i5 if i decide this will be a gaming pc only, might be an i7 if i decide i need more than gaming). Also I live in Greece so the pcpartbuilder prices don't really apply to me. I don't mind the slowness in the time that I'll need to get money for the SSD. (and the HDD is a part that is definitely going to be in the pc so w/e :P ). And as I said next year I'm planning to get an appropriate GPU for the full potential of gaming (1070 or 1080 idk yet).

The guy wants to add a 6700k later on and you guys keep recommending H110 boards? And recommending SSDs to someone who looks to be on a razor thin budget? smh

The part I haven't looked in is if it's worth future proofing the PSU. I'm pretty sure it's not but ye. If not suggest me a PSU for the current build (i randomly put a random one for the watts i needed :P )

I don't think I'll mind re-installing Windows in a few months that I'll get the SSD. I just need to get this pc fast because my laptop is dying. :D

Uhmm, no.  If he has the money next year, he can upgrade to whatever he wants:  CPU/mobo, or whatever.

At $700 he can do an i5 6500 + a decent GPU... with an SSD.  So why limit the performance for a whole year?

Going for an i7 + 1070 at 1080p is a colossal waste of money.

I do think you have some inefficiencies in your build, @Qifsharmonika. You're spending too much on the board and the case. By shifting to an Asrock Z170 board and a cheaper (but IMO better) Phanteks case you can squeeze an i5-6500 into your build. I also put in better RAM that is also cheaper. Here is something that gives you really strong gaming performance right now and will also allow you to drop in an unlocked processor later on, but costs $9 more in total:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($198.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock Z170A-X1 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($91.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2800 Memory  ($40.98 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($47.49 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 470 4GB NITRO+ Video Card  ($209.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro M ATX Mid Tower Case  ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair VS 550W ATX Power Supply
Case Fan: NZXT Air Flow Series 83.6 CFM  140mm Fan  ($7.99 @ Directron)
Total: $657.31
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

If the budget is too tight you can easily chop $20 off by going with an aftermarket PowerColor or Gigabyte RX 470 instead of the Sapphire card, but personally I'd keep the Sapphire card and eat the extra $9.

Crap, I thought you had already bought that psu. What's your total budget for everything including monitor? You can get a reasonable 23" 1080p TN panel for $120 or so. A good 500W PSU can usually be found for $60 or so if you don't mind rebates, and occasionally you can get really amazing deals (like my Antec Neo Eco 620C that I got for $23 from a Newegg Shell Shocker).
