Right lads (and girls). Im looking at getting a new pair of headphones and i need your help and experience. I currently use a set of Sennheiser RS170s but i no longer need a wireless set and i would like to use the one pair with both my pc and my phone.

This means that a closed pair is essential (to prevent disturbing others). I listen to a borad range of music from ACDC and Aerosmith to Pendulum and Macklemore etc. My budget is around £60. I could go slightly over but not by much (being a poor student sucks).

Any help would be appreciated :)

Grado SR60i's are an on ear headphone that preform very nicely with acoustic music among other genres and platforms (games and movies)
Only thing that is stopping me from being really supportive of the SR60i's is that they get uncomfortable after a few hours and the build feels weak sauce, though they do hold up for a few years at a time.
Other then that, the Sennheiser HD 205 is a full sized option with better build that I found was solid all around-er, its just not as good as the Grado's.

Of course, the grados are open...

I think Grado SR60i is not great for gaming (especially for FPS), the soundstage is not great

correct me if I'm wrong

I'm 99% sure you can't get grado's outside of the US. At least that's why my supplier says.

I can get Grado in Indonesia, there are offline stores at my city (and online stores too) that provide Grado  :)

Hmm. Weird, I'll talk to my supplier about this.

As for sound stage, it's OK.

Its nothing out of this world, but it holds up to the price that you can get them for.

Sure you can get them outside the US, not sure why the OP would want to at that price though.  :o

Talked with my supplier.

So yes, you can get them out of the US, but you have to pay a LOT more. This is because Grado is a small company (about 1-2 hours away from me) and they have to penalize foreign buyers so they can keep down demand. This stops us from selling them because then foreign purchasers could take advantage of the lower prices that we sell them at.

Shame really, I've always wanted to try some so I keep my eyes out for them on head-fi and ebay but other than that there's no chance.

It is what it is I guess. To be honest, I understand what Grado is doing. If they can't make them fast enough then they have to do something. Maybe in the future when they get bigger and they can manufacture more and prices will settle.

Next time I run down to the city I'll run down to the factory and talk them about it. I'm sure I won't be able to do much but you never know.
