Desktop slow Ethernet

Errr. No. This is bad advice.
2 weeks ago, he said it was working fine.
Also, no one should EVER BUY a Cat5 cable - they are decades old technology that has been surpassed many times over. Cat5e should be the very minimum for Gigabit network connections.

I i'm paying for a 100/30 internet connection. There are no problems when i test the speed with my phone or laptop(Ethernet and WiFi), I get about 110/30. But when i test the speed with my desktop with Ethernet i only get 9.7/1.5. I used the same Ethernet cable to test both my desktop and laptop(where there is no problem).
The problem started for about 2 weeks ago, just after i had been on vacation, there was no problem before the vacation.
My desktop is using Windows 10 Pro.
I would try doing the following:
1. Go to your motherboard website, and download the latest driver listed,
2. Go into the Device Manager, and uninstall the network driver - check the box that says delete the driver file
3. Reinstall the driver that you had already downloaded
4. Test again
If that doesn't work, try going directly to the Ethernet Chipset website (Eg: If it's Intel Gigabit LAN, go to the Intel website), and download the latest driver from there, and repeat the process above - the Motherboard Vendor doesn't necessarily keep the latest drivers up on their site.
