Hello everyone, within the next 1-1.5 months, I plan on building my first build. This will be for gaming, surfing the web, school, all that good stuff. I want to hopefully max games like Bf4, crysis, etc. My budget is around 1200-1300 CAD. I would like to stick to intel and I will do a mild overclock most likely. This is what I have, tell me what you guys think:

Thanks for all the help :)

No need for aftermarket thermal paste. The Hyper 212 Evo comes with good paste.

No mass storage drive?

Psu is on the higher side. A 550w would do.

Are you sure you need an optical drive?

I'd get better matching parts--you have a golden mobo, red ram, a black case and blue fans.

Just a few thoughts.

Plan later--optimally 2-3 days at most before you purchase your parts. Parts and prices change frequently.

The mass storage will probably be a 1tb wd black but I don't need it right away. The 550w will do, but for future crossfire I'd rather stay safe with a 650w. I'll keep the optical drive for those CDs I occasionally use. In terms of matching, I guess I could look at that. The case comes with blue LED fans btw..and the red ram would match the GPU

I've used Asus before and love their motherboards. The extreme 4 trades blows with the z-87 Plus according to a review I was reading, but I'll look into it. Thanks :)

Caviar blacks are not worth the money and can be a bit loud. Seagate barracudas are quite cheaper with similar performance.

You're looking at a 750w psu minimum for CF.

I'd say get a black mobo, black ram, and the xfx 280x because it is very sleek while keeping the Sickleflows.

Matching the gpu or not, the red ram on the gold mobo would be weird.

Instead of the 280x get a 7970. Theyre the same but you can get some nice 7970s for cheaper

If you plan to xfire get a 750w+ PSU

those fans arent too good. Ive had 2 die on me within a month.
