Unraid with i5-3570K

Hello,

 

I think the i5-3570K is missing a piece of virtualization tech that would allow pass through a pci-e device (ie. a GPU).  So what are my options?  I would love to have a normal desktop pc environment for use when in home, and another when I need to remote in an do some c++ development.  Currently I run Hyper-V and use a VM for c++ development.  Is there a better solution??

You can't do passthrough.

 

You can still rum vm's just fine. 

 

Id stay away from unraid and use something like proxmox, esxi or xen or normal desktop linux with kvm.

hmm proxmox looks okay to use, I will have to research how I can use it for my needs.  thanks!
