Ubuntu or Windows 7. Fuck XP, and don't bother about Win8.

What's wrong with Windows 8?

Well thanks guys for all your answera but i went for Windows 8, my dad liked it due the intergration on Microsoft Office and Hotmail (he only uses his pc for work... seriously work)

Also i saw a nice improvement on "snapyness" overall and since the notebook has a Intel Atom 1.6Ghz made a great experience. but i'm not swichting to Windows 8 haha because to me Windows 8 is just a Windows 7 without Moderm UI. and i'm to lazy to find and install every program that i currently have... again (recently swichted to 64bit).haha

Windows 8 has a long list of new features:

-> File History. Get, without any performance degradation, a continuous (configurable, to every 5min, 10min, 1h, daily, etc) backup of your personal files, where you can also go back in time. Great if you accidentally delete a file or folder, or try and get an old version of something you worked on, just to view or replace.

-> Storage Space (Software RAID that can work with any configuration/model/type/connector of drives). Not as fast a true RAID, but works with all hardware, and well "free".

-> XBox Music (unlimited music streaming of 30 million songs, with music exploration system. This is bigger than Spotify by a long shot. In fact it's the second largest music library available, right behind iTunes)

-> DirectX 11.2

-> SkyDrive integration

-> Sync settings, wireless passwords, and more. between windows 8 settings

-> 3D printing API (in the case you can afford such printer :) )

-> Each account can have it's own system language.

-> Refresh and reset of OS within Windows.

-> Connected standby (great for laptops and tablets)

-> Major Multi-monitor support improvement

-> Load (mount) ISO's virtually

-> Load (mount) VHD's virtually

-> Updated Task Manager

-> Hyper-V (req Pro version)

-> and more (but mostly related to tablets and laptops)

That aside, Windows 8.1 comes out tomorrow. :)

Yes you can upgrade, and yes it's free for Win8 users. Just, as always, remove the A/V and any other security software (beside Windows Defender (MSE of Win8)) before doing the process to avoid the security software block things.
