My PC won't restart

I have built my first PC. It won't restart it just shuts down and doesn't turn back on is there some sort of cable I haven't plugged in?

But it does turn on with a normal power on?

Have you managed to access CMOS or BIOS?

I have started my PC and installed Windows. When I try to restart it just shuts down. I'm on Windows 8.1

When you say "restart" are you going through Windows or a physical Reset button?

The headers for the reset switch on my motherboard were dysfunctional until I updated the BIOS. So you might want to try that.

My COMPUTER does this to you click shut down and it sits there nothingn closes or anything a temporary fix is to go into sleep turn back on and at the password screen click shut down. For me it's random sometimes it works some times it doesn't. I don't know of a permanent fix but this should get you by whenever it does it. Good luck
