Should I upgrade my motherboard as well???

Hey guys so my current rig that im sitting on is:

i7 4790k CPU

Gigabyte GTX 970 GPU

Be Quiet L8 600W Pure Power Supply Unit

Vibox Green Predator Gaming Case

8GB (1x8GB) Kingston ValueRAM 1600MHz

A 1tb hard drive and 500gb ssd.

and finally a Intel® Desktop Board DH87MC Motherboard

So I have decided I am going to do a computer "makeover" as currently (imo) it looks like crap.

It performs amazingly, sometimes it can like freeze but i think thats due to a few annoying viruses lurking around (which I am going to fix so dont worry) causing my ram to be used up quickly when i am not running anything on my computer that actually uses a lot of ram (knowingly).

Moving on so here are the upgrades I was planning on doing:

Upgrading my crappy vibox case to an Inwin-303 in white.

Changing from a stock cpu cooler to a Cryorig H7 Air cooler single fan

Getting 3 led coloured fans (dont know which type or colour yet but i have been looking at green sickleflow by CM)

Upgrading my non modular PSU to a Be Quiet Straight Power 10 700w 80+ gold, modular PSU

AND

alongside that psu get these - https://eustore.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-b-series-sp-cable-kit-black-green/ - custom sleeved cables for it :)

However I was maybe thinking about upgrading to get a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 3 Motherboard alongside all of these upgrades, but now that it has come to the time of maybe ordering everything, I do not know whether this will be worth the money. Like my current motherboard does everything fine atm but idk if getting a new motherboard will make that much of a difference. Performance wise it wont do much so should I just not bother upgrading the motherboard and spend the money on my other hobby (getting guitar pedals)?????

If you are going to get a new mobo (not worth it imo) then don't get a red one and ruin your green-sleeved build.

I dont know if I will be getting the green sleeved. Ill be using one of cable mods colours but the colours will be decided soon. I might go with blue or just stick with what i thought at first with green/black cables and then green led fans

There is no point in buying a new MB without upgrading the CPU. You rather should buy anbother RAM stick, 1x8GB is a bad choice. You dont use dual channeling this way. 8GB isnt enough anyway.

A new motherboard should only be considered when upgrading to a new socket or if your current motherboard died and you cannot afford to upgrade to the new socket.

Get extra ram like the others have said.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro
