Yes, the motherboard and processor use the same chipset, therefore you can indeed pair them together. :)

I am guessing that you are talking about the M5A99FX PRO R2.0 motherboard because I couldn't find one without the "R2.0"? If it is that one, then it is compatible:http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A99FX_PRO_R20/#specifications
