Is the 970m decent to play modern and future AAA titles? The laptops with 1060's are far too expensive..

And will there be a big performance boost with a i7 6700hq Vs i5 6300hq?

970m should be about the same as 960 desktop. Correct me someone if i am wrong.

@frozeNNN Looking at the specs, the 970m has more CUDA cores than the 960, but considering clocks, they are probably very close.

Oh okay thanks Yeah looking at benchmarks it's roughly 15-20% less performance ^^

Oh it's even less than I thought... Aiming at 1080p gaming, only 52 FPS for bf4

It's not really a problem it simply means future games will run worse.. Oh well it's my best choice for the price I think..

Do you believe the 1060 laptops prices will drop like 300$£€ by Christmas? Seems impossible to me..

I have the 6700hq as well as the 970m on my Sager laptop.  Last AAA title I've played was Rise of the Tomb Raider which it handled no problem at high settings at 1080p.  I'm sure it would be sufficient to handle anything for at least another year though.
