1080 by a long shot, assuming even bad SLI scaling...

The Titan XP hits very poor boost clocks with the stock cooler, so unless you are going to WC it, you probably won't even get close to it's real potential.

For raw performance, the 2 1080s would definitely be better, only a bit more expensive (relatively speaking). However, you need to remember that you're going to be dealing with more heat, more noise and also most importantly, hit or miss software utilization/optimization for your SLI config. So be aware of what games you play and how they support a SLI setup.

Get the Titan then. It will be a lot cheaper and more reliable than setting up an SLI WC rig.

SLI 1070s are about 20% faster than the pascal x in perfect situations - in bad scaling games they are probably performing about the same as each other

Getting a pair of AIB aricooled 1070 would be relativley cool and quiet (given they wont be working very hard) and wouldnt need water cooling... if you did water cool them, SLI watercooling is a big cost to consider...

SLI 1080s would be a far better option than a pascal X (unless you CANNOT use SLI - preety rare though)

But becoming more and more reality as developers don't bother with SLI and CFX profiles...

yeah, I understand you can usually get SLI to work with either a custom profile or using nvidia control panel. Crossfire is far less friendly.

All depends on what you play. if your playing a game that the devs/nvidia havnt bothered to add an SLI profile for then chances are a single card is going to do just fine.
