Plugged the powerSwitch wrong

Hey guys,

 

I did something stupid about 5 min ago, I wanted to boot my pc outside te case so I dicided to use my screwdriver to turn it in. But instead of using the correct pins I used the wrong ones.

I used the JTMP1 pins. I used the 5v power conected with serial IRQ and after that I used the 3V Power with the standby power. 

(Mobo is a MSI z97s Krait.) 

Well I wont start up anymore (no fans spinning ETC ) Does this mean it's fried ? (saw a spark :')  ) 

 

Hope you guys can fix it for me.

You probably shorted something, unplug all your GPUs, RAM etc, if it dosen't boot at all your board is probably dead

Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

Je zou even kunnen proberen om de voeding the ontkoppelen.

En dan de bios batterij even van het moederbord verwijderen om the bios te resetten.

Maar ja de kans is inderdaad aanwezig dat je bord stuk is.

Je zou een RMA kunnen proberen.

 

Translation:

 

You could try to disconnect the psu.

And then take out the bios battery to reset the bios.

But yeah big chance that you killed the board.

You could try to rma it.

Bios had ik al geprobeerd om te resetten. Hoe lang na bestel datum mag je RMA doen ? Heb hem nu al bijna een jaar.

Moet je even kijken wat de garantie periode is.

Meestal is dit 2 jaar.

Of je zou kunnen kijken of je nog ergens een leuke Z97 bordje kunt kopen.

Zoals bij  Azerty die hebben er nog genoeg in voorraad.

Beetje afhankelijk van welke processor je hebt.

Upgraden is denk ik niet echt zinvol momenteel.

Naja op tweakers staan nog genoeg m-atx bordjes. Heb maar een i3'tje. Het is alleen zonde had hem net te koop gezet :')

Nouja met een core i3 zou ik gewoon naar een winkel als azerty of zo toe gaan of ergens op tweakers kijken idd.

En dan gewoon een simpel H97 boardje of zo nemen.

Z97 bordje voor een corei3 is toch niet echt zinvol.
