I have question about USB type C connectors.

I am planning on getting a Note 7 once the recall has ended.
In order to utilize USB C's power delivery and high speed, does it require the port on your computer to also be USB type C?

To get full charging and data communication speeds you will need a port on your computer that meets the standard.

Its compatible with USB 3.0 or 2.0 as well, but data transfer, power delivery nad whatever else signal you transfer through it will be bottlenecked by the port on the other end, since its the one that's gonna be sending the information.

Like connecting a usb 3.0 flash drive on a USB 2.0 port will work with usb 2.0 speeds instead of usb 3.0 speed.
