[software] Email no longer supports browser (Linux)

Hi gmail and yahoo mail no longer support this version of firefox.
Please Help me get back my email. either recover my password to install another browser or fix this.
 
Os: Release 11 Katkya
Kernel Linux 2.6.38-8-generic
Browser: Firefox Version 5.0

 

I'm working with:

Chrome is not installed and I don't have the master password.

I tried this: https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/339

But even though I succesfully get it to GNU GRUB2 it will continue to boot regardless of what I do (to my knowledge)

I don't have the admin password required to install. The admin (person I'm trying to help) doesn't know it either

It looks like you have a very old version of linux mint. Perhaps try updating mint and firefox to a newer version. Gmail and yahoo support current versions of firefox on every operating system. If you need to recover your password, I would advise either using a live CD to chroot in to change it or follow the guide you are currently using. That said, you should be able to update using sudo as opposed to using a root password.
