Windows 10 subwoofer/bass problem

Go to solution Solved by zMeul,

use AC3Filter: http://www.ac3filter.net/

it allows you to expand stereo to 5.1 system and select a cross-over frequency for the LFE channel

Recently upgraded my HTPC from W7 to W10 and i have really strange problem. I have Sony receiver with 5.1 speakers connected to my PC via optical s/pdif and when i play a movie that has 5.1 everything is great, sound is perfect. But when i play music or movies that have only 2 channels any low frequency goes to my front left and right speakers and none goes to subwoofer. When i test speakers (receiver has in-build speaker test) they all work. Problem persists in any player/game/browser. It all worked perfectly on W7 with same realtek drivers (R2.79). It's frustrating not to have any bass while listening to music. I even tried connecting receiver with PC via 3.5mm to 2RCA cable and problem is still there - all low frequencies go to front speakers. Tried reinstalling sound drivers, removing them, reinstalling windows - nothing helps. Put another HDD into PC to install windows 7 and everything works as intended, so it's windows 10 problem. Receiver is Sony STR-K670P, motherboard is ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 (realtek alc892), Windows 10 Pro x64. Any help is welcome

I've been using it for more than a decade (~16y), ever since my 1st 5.1 card - Creative 5.1 Live!
