what does universal gpu block mean?

I was looking for a gpu block for my radiatormcooled gpu and I noticed one that said universal gpu block, what does that mean?

A universal block is meant for GPU's that don't have a full cover waterblock made for them, usually lower end GPU's don't have full cover blocks but also in that case most times it's not worth it to watercool them.

Universal means it fits several different makes and models. GPU block cools only the GPU chip and not the VRAM or the VRM. A lot of Low-end cards don't require watercooling the VRAM and VRM. For higher-end you can get universal blocks for them too. Or ou can try and fin d a full cover block Which cools everything but is model-specific.

Universal = fits more than one type/brand of card.

Check the compatibility list on the website to see all the ones it fits.

Ok cool because I have an amd card and want to water cool it due to it's 50 degrees half idling

Well i have an amd HD 4890

Dont think it is worth it though might as well upgrade to a better card

Yeah that card wouldn't be worth the cost of it to watercool as the parts to just get a decent loop going would be around $400 USD which is more than the card's worth.
