I just got a new keyboard which must consume more power, as it has features like led light shows. Since I got this keyboard, I started getting fps drops in Overwatch. This also happened when I plugged in my led headphones. Is it possible that my PSU is bottlenecking my performance, as when I use more power consuming peripherals my performance decreases? I have a athlon x4 860k OC’d @ 4.1 GHz and gtx 750 ti ftw, powered by a 430 watt bronze 80+ efficiency corsair psu.

No.

Your PSU deliver the needed Power or it doesnt. There is no in between. FPS drops have nothing to do with it.

Nope, not possible. Peripherals cannot cause FPS drops. It's down to something else, check your CPU and GPU usages and temperatures when playing Overwatch.

not exactly true. there is definitely in betweens. if you get a i7 6700k and a gtx 1080 with a 300W psu it would probably run at idle but as soon as you put load on the pc it would crash but OP's psu should be enough

That would be in the category "it doesnt" ;)

it would crash, it would not cause fps drops.

there's no 'power supply bottleneck', if the psu can provide the power it works, if the psu cant it'll shut down.

I remember overclocking my GPU and after 10 mins my fps capped at 15 or something, as my PSU could not supply enough power so my gpu must have underclocked. I figured the same thing is happening again, because my cpu voltage automatically adapts to the clock speed. So consuming more power means the cpu has to underclock?

do gpus power limit themselves when there is not enough power? and btw I know that OP's psu has enough wattage

there is no way for them to sense "available power"

they just draw all they need until they are satisfied, or until something shuts down.

No. They demand the needed Power. If the System cant handle it: Crash.

So to be clear, my cpu won't underclock if there isn't enough power? But my gpu will...

neither will. if there is not enough system power available it'll just crash. (or your PSU will catch fire if it doesnt have protection built in)
