Yeah i'll be selling away the 3770 hence the net cost of $50SGD , Currently i don't think my motherboard is an OC capable one (P8H77-M LE) but I'm getting a EVGA Z68 FTW soon i guess

Well I'd hold off unless the EVGA z68 is something your getting essentially for free, since if you add more costs to the mix the swap becomes less practical than it already was.

Hi! I'm currently using a i7-3770 cpu and i was wondering if upgrading to a i7-3770k(will try to overclock) worth it ? Like a additional SGD$50 to upgrade .

Also, i'm considering to get a EVGA Z68 FTW too , with or without the 3770k .

CPU- Intel i7-4790K @ 4.68GHz GPU- - RAM- 16GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance  SSD- Crucial MX300 275GB HDD- 500GB 7200RPM Case- Phanteks ENTHOO PRO M ACRYLIC Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 OS- Windows 10 Mouse- Logitech G502 Keyboard- Razer BlackWidow Chroma

I think you won't see a whole lot of performance gain going from 3770 to 6700(K) or i7 7xxx. At least not in games, but maybe in high res photoshop/video editing.

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

Eh that's like 35ish bucks US so it may be worth it, I assume you mean you would sell the other chip hence only having a net cost of $50SGD

However do you even have a OC capable motherboard

Ah i see , alright thanks everyone for the help! Btw is there a better upgrade choice of mobo and cpu that doesn't cost a bomb ? Maybe i could upgrade that in afew months time

Well tbh there aren't that many cpus that are better in the mainstream market than the one you have, there are the haswell and skylake i7s but they are both expensive and not really worth switching out other parts for, at least the 3770 is still by all accounts a good cpu.
