So, I'm a first time PC builder and i'm looking for advice on a motherboard for a $1500-$1700 computer(not sure if a 1080 or a 1070).I need to have Wifi, preferably nice aesthetics, and must be compatible with the 6600k. Was interested in the Asus R.O.G hero alpha but i am not sure if that is suitable for this price point.  Thanks for the help!

just go with like the msi m5 or m7 great boards, z170 red (assuming it your build color) you wont need 3tb or space, you can get a corsair RM750x for cheaper than the EVGA and about it also you wont really need the water cooler because 6600k works well with a good air cooler like the 212 but lets be honest we all like to go high and nice and fancy but yeah nice build (also you should probably get a 1440p monitor)

also any other advice you have would be appreciated

i'd pick the asus z170-e for $120 after rebates and add in a gigabyte GC-WB867D-I REV 4.2 for $30 as the wifi. also, the NEX is bad, get a different psu instead. this 750w supernova G2 will be far better for $85 after rebates.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
