Do I need to upgrade CPU

So I have been playing BF1 Beta and on a 1080p monitor with a 1070 and i5 4440 at ultra settings. I get around 60-70 fps and it's pretty choppy. Do I need to upgrade my CPU to an i7 or is this maybe because the game is in Beta?

I found with DX12 enabled, my experience was extremely choppy with lots of stuttering. With it off, it ran fine at 50-120 FPS. however my friend with a 970 said he didn't even see an option for DX12, so im not sure if its only available for AMD users (which doesn't make sense to me).

 

Get MSI afterburner and look at CPU usage while playing. Is it pinned at 100%?

CPU is a bottleneck here, nuff said, i7 would be great! an i5 6600k could work too though.

the beta does not run well on dx12 as of right now as stated before

i play bf1 with 6700k and 1070 also runs perfectly  but my wife plays bf1 with a 6600k and a 1070 and it also runs perfectly
