Performance is close for both but the 470 is way more power efficient and being new it's no choice at all: 470 dude.

The 290x is a better price to performance. HOWEVER, it also runs very hot. Unless you have specific things you need the maximum value for (like how much power you can fit in a budget, or if you need above 1080p gaming), I'd highly recommend the 470.

Get the Red Devil 470, looks one of the fastest out there. Matching the 480 reference.

I'd go with the RX 470.

 

1) It runs much cooler and uses much less power.

2) It's more likely to get small performance boosts with new drivers.

750 corsair gold full modular psu. Which brand 470 from asus gigabyte and xfx i had all 3 in the past as nvidia not as ati. Xfx is the last option i think

Okei i have a temptation they give me a good price under 200 euros msi lightning 780 gtx. 470rx 256 euros and 290x lightning 240 euros

plus i have mpower mobo in my rig. Can i play 1080p 1440 no on ultra on high settings with the 780 lightning? Am not an fps freak i want to play my game on good settings with stable good fps lol dota l2 Cod bf4 and mostly adventurs action games  thank you
