You can make your life a easier with Custo Pack (http://www.custopack.com/ - Free).

It's basically a setup program that packages popular themes and configures Windows for you, include if it needs to patch the Windows theme dll engine (it makes a backup, and will restore it, if you pick normal Win7 theme). Don't try to run this on Windows 8, as it will break Windows 8, as the theme dll file it has is for Win7, not Win8, it's different.
