Can't install Nvidia drivers

Just gone from a GTX 750 ti to a GTX 1060, and I have tried uninstalling normally, and with DDU.

Every time Geforce Experience (After reinstalling this) tries to install the drivers, it says:nvidia misbehaving.PNG Yet it gives me no choice what version to install.

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690 3.5GHz

Motherboard: Asus Z97-P DDR3 ATX

RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 8GB 2400MHz

GPU: Palit Geforce GTX 1060

Case: Zalman Z9+

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM HDD, SK Hynix 256GB SSD

PSU: SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W

OS: Windows 10 64-Bit

Are you installing the Nvidia driver for Windows 10 64bit?

CPU: Intel Core I7 7700K & Corsair H100i v2

Yes, Windows 10 64 Bit, and I'm fairly sure I'm not running anniversary edition.

Wait, how do you have Geforce experience if you used DDU?
Uninstall all nvidia drivers (including Geforce experience and anything from Nvidia) and try reinstall. If that still doesn't work, then you may need to reinstall windows.

Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

Done all of that. You can install geforce experience without having nvidia drivers installed.

Maybe try a different older driver? Not sure which one is the best for 1060, but for my 970 driver 362.00 is the best

I can't find the older drivers. It only displays the 372.60 on the website.

these are for W10 x64 not A.U.

368.81: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/368.81/368.81-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe

 

open a CMD window and check what it sais on the 1st line

if it's 

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.14393]

then you have the Anniversary Update, if it's lower you don't

but you also must have the November Update - 10576; you cannot install the drivers I linked above you don't have the November Update
