Dualband wifi adapter wont find 5ghz

Hey

I just bought the asus AC750 wireless PCI-E adapter to get wireless on my desktop. I'm using an Asus C7 AC1750 router and i can easiliy find the 5ghz on my laptop and my phone but not my desktop... I specifically bought the ac750 to get the 5ghz but it wont show? What should i do?

I run into this when i got my TP-Link router, just try out more channels on the 5 GHz band and see if it shows up...

Its simple, there is an option in your routers WebUI(you have to look around, im not familiar with asus) for the selection of the channel(most likely the settings for 2,4 GHz and 5GHz will be separate). The problem is that different regions have different channel "sets". Maybe your router is running on a channel that for some reason is not allowed in the cards firmware. Just try out all the option you have under Channel.

 

And one more thing. Set the router to 20 MHz channel width and a/n/ac mixed mode.
