Hello there, I was in the process of installing my EKWB waterblock on my card but when came the moment to remove the fan and RGB plugs, one was difficult enough to remove but the other one doesn't want to move at all. I tried to check installation guides on youtube to see how they did it, but most of them are for the gtx 1080 FE when I have the strix version which is totally different.

Try to wiggle it a bit and if it doesn't work, why not cut the cables in the middle?  If you ever need the original strix cooler again you could solder the wires back together ( they are color coded so nothing too difficult)

meh, I need to put the EKWB waterblock and backplate on it afterwards, having a connector with hanging out cable isnt the best. It literally doesn't move, I did the wiggle for the other one but this one doesn't move at all.

try a bit more force, it'll give, just dont rip the solder pads :P

these connectors are very finnicky, if you're 100% sure it's stuck, grab a hobby knife, and stick it into the plug above the connector and pry ever so slightly while wiggling.

they're not clips, they're just protrusions in the connector, you cant really push them.

i know from expeirence from seeing pretty much hundreds of these over the years :P

best thing to do is lift the black connector up, so it doesnt grab as hard.

Iv'e been wiggling it for the past hour. It moved at first for about 1mm then nothing more. It still wiggles but doesn't go further than that.

yeah well, a little bit of the top of the black plastic holder cracked and broke off when I pried it just a little bit so I won't do that anymore xD
