Hey guys! 

 

I am a gamer and youtuber and I need to upgrade to a mechanical keyboard... What cherry switch should I use?

That depends on your tastes. Do you want a heavy or a light switch? Do you want click, bump, or just a smooth progression to the bottom? How much can you spend?

£80-ish... I don't really know about my preference tbh as I have never felt one and I don't know how it will affect my recording...

I suggest you find someone with a mechanical keyboard and try it out then. (Personally I use Cherry MX Clears)

i prefer reds but maybe go to a friend or a store and try them out, to see which on you like the most

If you record and you don't want something too loud, but your still looking for that tactile feel, I would go with the cherry mx red switches. Thats what I have and they are fantastic.

For recording you would need a quieter switch. Reds, browns, or silent switches would be your best bet and stay away from blues. See if any store has them on display and go and test out a few keyboards with different switches.
