I7 6700 non k sku

So I recently built my pc from the ground up. DO not get me wrong it is a monster. Dual 980 tis (g1 gaming from gigabyte) overclocked to 1330 mhz. 32 gb of ram and a 6700. but im looking to upgrade to the i7 6800k. I am wondering if it is worth doing or if The 6700 is enough for a while. I do a lot of 3d modeling and animation as well as programming. With alot of the focus in game dev and animation being towards 4k res I am uncertain about the longevity of the my cpu. Can anyone help me out?

If you have the budget to be able to upgrade to an X99 platform and the 6800k then go for it. If not, then stick with the 6700.

The budget wont be an issue as it isnt a right now type of deal. Im just deciding between my cpu first or my gpus first. But i see all these posts about k sku 6700s and noone says anything about the performance of the 6700. so im not sure about where i stand with it

The 6700k is overclockable while the 6700 is not. They are the same performance if you don't overclock the 6700k

its hard to say its worth it tbh, the current CPU should be fine

I would just save up for a future upgrade in 12-24 months time

I understand the difference in the k and non k models. What i am asking is The difference in performance between the 6700 and 6800k worth the complete rebuild and upgrade. Thanks for the replies btw!
