Help me get a GPU

Please help. I'm planning on building a $1000 gaming rig and I need some help deciding the GPU, as in to go with AMD or Nvidia and why.

So far this is what I thought of :

1. 1080p, 60fps.
2. Decided on a processor (i5 6500 3.2Ghz).
3. Want to play games like GTA 5 and Witcher 3 on high to ultra. (These games should be around 40 to 60 fps).
4. Strictly gaming, no need for DVD drivers but will need a WiFi card.

RX 480. cheap it'll get you 60fps on 1080p

get the gtx 1060 and the i5 6600k in your build.

What is your remaining budget after you total up your parts before the GPU? That would help us determine the viability of a high end GPU or not.

With everything, but minus the GPU i have about $360 left.

If its not too much trouble, i would also like to know from people who actually have these cards. The temps, if they heat up or if they are noisy.

And how the perform with the most demanding games.

I mentioned $360 left, but i dont want to use all that for the GPU, want to keep it to upgrade some other stuff probably.

For just the GPU can i make do with $250.

I checked out online the:

1. msi gtx 960 4gb

2. XFX R9-380X-4DB
