I unfortunately had to sell my gpu about 3 months ago for gas money and groceries while i was waiting for my first paycheck from my new job so im in the market for a cheap used gpu to tie me over for 3-4 months while i save for an Rx 480 or if there is enough a 1070. Anyways im looking at 2 different cards from craigslist one is a 750ti but the guy hasn't replied to me and the other is a GTX 660 with the MSI twin frozer III cooler on it and he is wanting no less than $80 for it. My question is would $80 be to much considering it doesn't have any of the boxes or paperwork or anything with it? I personally was thinking more along the lines of around $60 or is that to little.

i would actually look at cards like the hd 7950 and 7970 . from what i've seen they dropped in price quite a bit on the used market and perform very well

Well, from a value perspective, you can get a 460 (think 670~) brand new with a warranty for $120~ (and is 30%~ faster). So based on that price/performance, a 660 should be like $80 new, but price to performance does get worse at either extreme and there is kind of a bottom line that anyone would sell a GPU for....$60 would be a much better price, but....

That's what I was thinking that 80 seemed a bit steep so I'm trying to talk him down to $60 especially considering I have to drive 38 miles to get it

If you're really that tight on money I would say maybe hold off on buying a GPU for the time being anyway....

its not that I'm that tight on cash its that $80 is my extra spending money that's not needed after paying all bills and taking care of the day to day stuff. basically the $80 is my fun money for the next 2 weeks.

I live in eastern tennessee and there aren't many choices for cards around here on the used market unfortunately :(

Honestly I am just tired of having this awesome gaming pc that can't be used for any kind of gaming due to not having a gpu lol and would like to have something to utilize my expansive steam library with. At the moment on the Igpu I can play heroes of the storm at low settings at a reduced resolution at 40fps which sort of sucks. For me my pc and xbox one are my entertainment so blowing my fun money for the next two weeks is no issue if I am able to get something that would allow me to be entertained in my off time until I can afford another mid to high end gpu to go with my current system. Those were taken right after I built it so it has my old gpu in those pics. I built it a week after the R9 390 launched which is what is in the picture.

$80 for a 660 is a bit expensive considering you can find 660ti for $70-$80 shipped on HardwareSwap!

If I was you, that's where I would look ( https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap/ ).

You could also look for HD7850 or HD7870, they are around the same or better in terms of performance compared to the 660 but they should be cheaper (got my 7870 for $55)
