My grandpa (who i call nono) needs a computer to wake up in the morning and watch the news. do some emails. I know this is overkill but on the occasion that i need to use it i think i might as well get an i5. Anything i missed/should change.

you should really go with a skylake i3 processor over that i5.

I personally think the i5 is overkill for browsing, but do as you please. You also forgot to include a PSU and storage (HDD is fine).

Do you have a monitor and keyboard as well as speakers if the monitor doesn't have them built in?

What about a Windows key?

there is no storage or PSU in that list! other than that it should be fine.

I am re using his hard drive to avoid needing a windows key. The case has a PSU and i know case PSUs arent good but its fine enough. I use his pc when im at his house. thats more of a feature for me lol.

Another reason for the i5 is that its quad core and There isnt one on the i3.

true but for what he does, he really doesn't need a quad core and you could save a lot of money.

I would recommend spending a few extra bucks on a cheap EVGA PSU with good ratings. If that case PSU fries your computer you'll be out close to $300. Better safe than sorry.
