Super Bright Displayport? [solved]

Go to solution Solved by JsdMaNintendo,

Solved!

So I've been suing my monitor for a while (I've got my specs and parts listed on my page) through HDMI for a while and it was fine. I got it for Freesync but was never using it, so I finally bought a Displayport cord and yay, I can use Freesync! But now some of my colors are super washed out. For example, the blue of a Skype Chat now looks brighter than a summer sky. On FaceBook, I can't tell my new notifications from read ones because they're the same color. In my Gmail, same for unread/read mail, no grey, all just white. FaceBook's grey background, bright white, mixing with the color of posts.

I tried a few things so far over the past couple

  • Adjusting "Color Tone"
  • Adjusting RGB individually
  • Adjusting brightness
  • Adjusting contrast
  • Adjusting gamma (helped the most, but didn't solve it)

I can't find any way to adjust anything of the sort from inside the AMD Crimson software. Maybe I'm just missing it like a dolt?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :D

Update:

Opening the Crimson Software, I click "Preferences" and clicked "Radeon Additional Settings"

Then under "My Digital Flat-Panels" inside of "Display Color (Digital Flat-Panel)", in "adjustments" I turned the Brightness to -5 and Contrast to 90.

Looks perfect!

Had the same problem and setting my monitor to higher refresh rate fixed it for me. Well maybe not "fixed" per say, it's a workaround I guess.

Changing the refreshrate didn't change how it looked for me :(

maybe look for a hdmi rgb setting in the monitor OSD? usually this setting is meant for TVs that can't display true color

Couldn't find one. I went through almost my color settings :(

What monitor and refresh rate?
there was some bug in the AMD drivers where 60hz on freesync displays appeared completely wrong.
This was a driver bug.

Might have been mentioned here:

https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/viewsonic-xg2401/

My monitor is 75hz, but it still might be a driver issue.

Checked for an update, I'm currently up to date :(

BUT! I have found the additional Radeon settings with more in depth options! I may be able to solve it form in here! :D

I appreciate you all! I'll update the thread if I solve it!
