Hello people of the LTT forums! This is the beginning of a new(ish) project that I plan on doing. Earlier this summer, I had done a post about a super ghetto PC that should have been pretty good for something like 200$ ish? ($201.51 I checked lol) However the project was a pretty big failure as the 580 I was using was getting some pretty bad artifacts on the screen because of the inadequate cooling. However! I have decided to revisit this project as I have gotten some money so I would be able to do so (lol). So, without further wait, here is the parts lineup!

CPU: i7-2600k $53.00

Now this was an interesting deal, because normally a 2600k would be much more expensive. The reason it was not as expensive is because apparently one of the four cores is dead. However they claim that it works fine so lets hope all is well with the overclocking and whatnot.

Motherboard: Biostar H61MGV3 $49.99

Using the same board as I was before, but I will still include the price.

RAM: 8Gb RAM: Free

Random DDR3 stuff I had lying around. Pretty sure I pulled it out of a build at some point.

GPU: EVGA GTX 580: $55

Again same GPU as before, but this time I hope I can cool it adequately :)

Storage: WD 500Gb HDD: $22

Was a pretty good deal I think, they say it is working so we will see.

CASE: TBD

There is this $30 case I saw on ebay, and I am currently as of writing negotiating with the guy on the price. Here is the product in case you were interested. I will keep this updated.

PSU: Corsair CX 430M: $40

Bought this off of Newegg a while ago, should be plenty fine :)

Cooling:

So for the cooling I am going to be doing watercooling again, however I have gotten some better parts so it wont be leaking everywhere this time.

CPU Block: $12.34

Not going to lie, I don't really like using some random brand CPU block, but from what I can tell it looks like it will work well enough. It even comes with its own mounting hardware, so I wont have to resort to using some zip ties again.

GPU Block: $15.98

Now this one is pretty much the same as the CPU block, comes with its own mounting hardware etc. We will see how it works out I guess.

VRAM Heatsinks $10: I got 40 of these little guys, so I should have enough for this project 5x over. The only problem I have found is that the adhesive sucks. I have some nice 3M double sided tape would that work fine? My only concern is that the adhesive will melt in the heat or not properly transfer it to the heatsink. (COPYPASTA FROM LAST POST LOL)

Pump/Reservoir: $15.99

I keep saying that I don't like using knock off brands, but that's what you got to do when on a budget I guess. Cheap combo, nothing much else to say.

Radiator: $14.89

For the radiator, I decided to go for a single 120mm radiator, as I thought that my CPU and GPU wouldn't really be producing enough heat that it would need to be dispersed in a 2 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm radiator. Did I make the right choice here? The 2 x 120mm radiator was only $5 more. (MORE COPYPASTA)

Fans: $2.25

1 blue led 120mm fan. Enough said.

Conclusion

Well here we are. I think I might make a video on the building of it, I don't know yet we will see. Total: $289.25

you could try getting  a higher budget with the linusmediagroup tested methods like selling berries or mowing lawns ;)

I could, but the point of this was to work off of a very limited budget. Kinda like they do in scrapyard wars (I would be pretty pro at it)

hands down, you did a great job ;)   just to compare the price/perf    sold my almost 10year old intelcoreduo rig for that price

Does that motherboard support overclocking? And, if it doesn't, are you doing the water cooling just for grins?

Hmm, a tri-core quad-core that "might work", plus a hard drive that "might work", plus a GTX-580 on a 430watt power supply. Sounds right some good to me! :D

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

I am doing it just for the lols, but I will hopefully be OCing the 580. :)
