Hi,

My boot priority Changed today. My computer would not boot. Just a black screen after BIOS slash screen. I went in to UEFI BIOS and the SSD would not show. I had to go into advanced settings. I had to change the boot config to the SSD instead of the Toshiba HDD. I got the computer to boot by it's self. I don't know why the settings changed. I have theory that the BIOS CMOS battery may be dyeing or dead, because my computer was also set to power saving mode when I had it set to performance.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Hey there :)

The easiest way would be to measure the voltage of the battery and see if its within the recommended range.

Power problems may also cause BIOS reset or problems with the settings.

If you have a bad drive, cable or a port it may have gotten disconnected and the BIOS may have removed the SSD from the list due to that reason so I'd check the health of the drive.

Has the problem occurred again ever since?

The Computer boots fine after going in to advanced setting and putting the drive back in to the boot options. The boot was configured to My Toshiba Storage drive that was in the primary spot, the SSD was exuded from boot list. This is the first time that has happened. At least my OS still works.

If I lost power some time during night it may have done that too. It seems unlikely because I have a UPS connected. I think that it would not have to depend on battery if the Mother Board was supplied with power from PSU. It is odd.

This is indeed unusual. Has the issue occurred again?

Try doing tests on the CMOS battery, the PSU and check the OS log file if there's anything unusual there.
