Recommend Me An Android Phone

Hello everybody,

 

I haven't really been keeping track of phones for the last year or 2 and I've got the opportunity to upgrade my phone through my carrier, there are a couple options and I just wanted to know if there are any major issues with the one's that I am considering that I may not know of.

 

I currently have an LG G3 and I do like it, especially the physical button layout.

 

Options:

• LG G4 - free
• LG G5 - $100
• Nexus 6 - free nevermind that one, too big
• Nexus 6P - free (never heard of this one before)
• Samsung Galaxy S6 - free

 

So what do you think? I know Linus didn't think too highly of the LG G5, would it be worth a $100 over the G4, how's the Nexus and Galaxy S6 in comparison? 

 

I would like removable battery, microSD slot and a good rear camera.

I would recommend the G5. I have the S6 and im not too fond of no removeable battery or microSD. G5 is bigger, but same 1440p display. Back buttons are annoying from what ive felt in store, but you do you.

ZTE axon 7? Im upgrading from a LG G3 as well and the axon 7 is what im looking forward to.. 2nd choice for me would be one plus 3 then samsung note 7/5

Sorry, the Axon and One Plus aren't options for this upgrade and the carrier wants $550 for the Note 7, which I ain't doing.

You should consider what Linus wants in a phone. If I recall from his other videos, he doesn't care about removal battery in general. You can fix the app management that he complained from the video with a different launcher. I do feel that the modular phone thing is a gimmick but overall its a good phone. I would personally go with the LG G4 though to save dosh.

Starting to lean towards the Nexus 6P, although the only version I could get is the 32GB which would be a bit of a bummer.

I should probably mention I'm in Canada. Anybody got hands-on experience with the Nexus 6P?

Yup, I have have it and I am very satisfied with the performance and the frequent updates from Google. The phone is also very responsive. Stock Android is another plus if you want the minimalistic feeling. The camera is pretty good, sometimes a bit slow.

Display is very nice and battery can last a day for me. Front facing stereo speakers are great
