So ive posted something like this before but i need a few more opinions. I have an otpion between an i7 6700k and an i7 6700. The final cost between them will be 100~ euro. Is the overclocking abikity worth it for gaming and would thr i7 6700 last me about 5 years without being a serious bottleneck. The budget is kinda tight and please dont tell me how "enjoyable" overclocking is, im looking purely for a significant gaming improvement in the future.

Not worth it, unless you also spend a decent amount of money on cooling and a decent motherboard with decent power phases.... better to spend the money on a better GPU IMO.

Do you think it will last me about 5 years with gpu upgrades? Like, i know its not a problem with the current 1000 series but in like 2 years when ill get the next gpu ,im wondering if it will be ok.

Yes, it should be more than fine with an i7 6700, they boost upto around 4Ghz and have 8 threads, so getting a decent GPU like the 1070/1080 will make that last for a while for sure... I mean maybe in a few years time you might be getting maybe 5fps less than you would now on triple A titles, but that's not bad at all. I could be wrong, but can see that CPU and GPU combo lasting a good 5 years before the fps drops to a level you would want to change up the CPU/GPU if using 1440p/1080p and even then just a few changes to the settings will rectify it.

No problem, better to just spend it on a good GPU, if you're only going 1080/1440p display just go with the 1070 is my opinion... saves a good $200 or so and then if you need to upgrade to the 1570 or whatever they will call it in 5 years time that $200 will be well spent. I doubt that you would actually NEED to though TBH, unless by then everyone's on 4k or better in which case the GPU will probably need upgrading too.
