ok so i haven't had a friend for 8+ years and im finally noticing effects of not having any one to talk too and stuff like that so what should i do? is it better with a friend?

Whether or not anything is "better with a friend" is up to you. I can't tell you what you should think about having friends.

But if you feel lonely, then it would probably be an idea to go out and socialize.

A lot of places have meetings and gathering for people in your position. I would check with your local activities center.

I do indeed. Which is a bit strange seeing how I'm extremely anti-social.

But I guess that's what happens when you find people you like (and who likes you back) that you share common intersts with.

I ask because I'm 14 never had a friend and it's the first year of high school so I'm wondering

Well, what do you want to achieve with your question? 

There unfortunatly isn't a magic formular to making friends. Friendship is usually just a thing that happen.

Haha, sounds just like me in primary school! Except I did have a few friends back then. Four, to be exact. But I still was very socially awkward, being known as the guy in the corner who never speaks. Anyway, your teacher might possibly help you find someone with similar interests and introduce you, which is how I got a new friend the first year of high school; if it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't have had any friends around that year, as my previous best friend moved far, far away and I mostly lost contact with the other few friends I had, due to not meeting at the school anymore.

 

Second year, I don't know what that kind of school is called in english, and Google Translate isn't proving much useful, but it's a school where you get a room for yourself, and live there while attending school. At first, I was as socially awkward as always, with no friends, and I didn't dare trying to talk to anyone. Luckily, someone with similar interests noticed me, and even introduced me to another guy I to this date consider my best friend; He lived just across the hallway. During this year, I was socialicing a lot, getting a lot if experience and exposure, which has served me well.

Talk to people, meet people who share the same interests as you. I've made friends even here, maybe try to find people you see often on the forum who share the same opinion as you and send a PM saying Hi. Thats how I became friends with @ShadowTechXTS and then with @wcreek and @themctipers from Tallons status update conversations. Maybe drop in and say hi

i made my first real long time friends when i was 12, and it was because i liked to play pokemon and zelda on the gameboy color during lunchbreak, met 4 or 5 othr people who also liked to play videogames in general and im still close friends with them 13 years later, realy if you have the chance to do somthing in your lunchbreaks that you like and other people with the same intrests notice that, or you see someone doing that what you like, don't fel shy and just say high, worst thing that happens is that they ask you to leave, best thing you have a possible new friend, also if the school has after school activities check them out, i did wallclimbing at my school and i met a few nice people that way aswell.

I'm somewhat socially awkward, I have aspergers so I get nervous when I talk to people. All you really have to do is go up to someone and say hi, even if you're sweating so much that you could fill a whole custom loop
